Subj: Korean Service medal Engagement Stars, eligibility for
1. In reply to your letter of 5 November 1953, P15, Serial No. 773, you are informed that Engagement Star K-7 has not been confirmed by the Coast Guard as valid for CG LORSTA Pusan. The records indicate Engagement Star K-7 was authorized for the Second Korean Winter, 28 November 1951 to 30 April 1952. Wheras LORSTA Pusan did not become eligible for the Korean Service Medal prior to 1 August 1952.
2. Engagement Stars for duty at CG LORSTA Pusan will be included in the next Personal Circular authorizing CG units to wear the Korean Service Medal for the following periods:
K-8 3-1-52 to 11-30-52
K-9 12-1-52 to 4-31-53
K-10 5-1-53 to 7-27-53
